Apartment Building with Commercial Premises
The building designed in Polocko Street is a modern duplex residential building with commercial premises, which, together with the adjacent buildings, forms an integrated townish urban development. It is classics that intertwines with modern elements and complements each other. A typical old town residential building presented in a different way.
The main idea of the designed building is a clear, rational shape dictated by the function of the building itself and surrounding environment.
The designed building is three-storied with a mansard and a gable roof.
The building is designed to be moderate, laconic in volume, functional, in harmony with the environment.
When designing the building, the aim was to integrate the form of its expression and finishing into the existing environment of the old town as much as possible, to harmonize with it and complement it. The main street facade is designed to smoothly complement and extend the existing street development (narrow rhythmically arranged windows, finishing in clinker bricks, tiled gable roof). The solutions of the interior courtyard facade are modern, adapted to a modern cosy life (large windows, multi-level terraces, some glass in the gable roof).
Natural materials, such as, clinker, glass, tiles, timber, dominate in both exterior and interior finishing. The interior of the building is minimalistic, modern, serving its residents and reflecting the expression of urban life.
